Reading List for Adults and young Adults
Personal Finance & Capital Accumulation:
These books in this first section, are my favorite on the topic, and you really only need to read 2 or 3 of them to fully understand the concept. Some people will use language and examples that will be easier to understand for some, so read a couple until you find one that makes the most sense to you.
Becoming Your Own Banker – Nelson Nash – The OG of Infinite Banking. Starting with this book is usually the way to go.
Financial Independence in the 21st Century – Dwayne and Suzanne Burnell – A more modern and traditional explanation of Nelson Nash’s IBC strategy.
The Case for IBC – Bob Murphy – The greatest living economist, after years of trying to debunk IBC, realized how powerful it was and has since written multiple books on the topic, including this book ‘The Case for IBC’.
Money, Wealth, Life Insurance – Jake Thompson – Similar to Financial Independence in the 21st Century, it is a great up to date version of Nelson’s original book.
The AND Asset: The Secret Way to Save and Use Your Money at the Same Time – Caleb Guilliams – Caleb, the owner of ‘Better Wealth’, wrote this book to expand on IBC and give much more detail around the concept and the important financial concepts that it helps us maximize.
A Path to Financial Peace of Mind – Dwayne Burnell – Another great rendition on the same topic.
Retirement Planning:
The 5th Option: Why your retirement plan won’t work the way you think it will – Walter C. Young – A must red for anyone, bust especially those who are married and thinking about retirement. Read at any age, but the sooner you read and implement, the better off your retirement planning will be.
Other Personal Finance:
The Pirates of Manhattan – Barry James Dyke – Barry helps illuminate the corruption and fraud in the financial world, and helps to provide some alternative options for those who don’t want to participate in the wall street system.
Richest Man in Babylon – Charles Conrad – Written in the early 20th century, this short pamphlet helps to illustrate personal financial truths that have existed since ancient Babylonia. My book series ‘The Richest Boy in Athens’ is loosely based off of this famous book.
Die with Zero: Getting All You Can From Your Money and Your Life – Bill Perkins – A must read for anyone, especially if you have children. It helps you think about what is really important, how to best give and leave an inheritance (hint, do it while you’re still alive), and how to best think about retirement and retirement planning.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki – If you want to get out of the rat race, this is an important book to help you change your mindset to achieve that goal.
The Investor’s Warp Whistles: Secret ‘financial cheat codes’ for investing, saving and avoiding taxes – Sean Dempsey – A one stop shop for basically everything covered in these books above. Sean doesn’t waste much with fluff, and gets right to the point in every chapter. If you only want to have to read one book to understand the basic financial and investing concepts, this is the book for you.
Estate Planing and Family Legacy:
What would the Rockefellers Do? – Garrett Gunderson – If family legacy matters to you, this is the book you should read.
Entrusted: Building a Legacy that Lasts – Andrew Howell – If you want to understand how to set up a trust and some best practices, read this book.
Taxation:
Tax-Free Wealth – Tom Wheelwright – A great guide to legally saving on taxes by doing what the government is incentivizing you to do.
Stock Market or other Speculative assets:
Bonds – Hildy Richelson – A thick book where you can learn everything you ever wanted to learn about bonds.
All About Dividend Investing – Don Schreiber – A good basics for anyone who wants to learn about Dividend stock investing.
Economics:
Choice: Cooperation, Enterprise, and Human Action – Bob Murphy – If you only ever read a single Economics book in your life, let it be this one. Bob is arguably the greatest living economist, and in this book he does an incredible job at distilling complex topics into simple understandable language and examples. Reading this book will help you understand the world around you better than almost anything else you could read.

The Tuttle Twins Series – Teaching Economics, History, Civics and much more. My favorite books for children.
